Once upon a time in Damascus,Syria, there lived a swimmer named Yusra. She hadn't always been a swimmer, she was too afraid to go into the pool. While the other kids swam, she would stand at the edge of the deep end, staring at the water. She could barely see the bottom.
And when she thought about plunging in head first, her Heart beat a little faster.
But the pool didn't just scare her it excited her too.so little by little, she breathed the water.she dipped her toes, tryed staying afloat and plunged her head underwater for just a second and she was swimming.
But soon after her house got bommed there were few neighbourhoods left.so she went on a boat with cousins and her sisters.they travelled until the motor broke. So they swam.
Tēnā koe i tēnei ahiahi Daniel,
ReplyDeleteYou have done a fantastic job retelling Yursa Mardini's story. Great job. What is the most interesting part of Yursa's story for you? Did anything stand out?
